Innovation in ultrasound technology
In an industry where ultrasound is not solely used for its initial intended purpose, Telemed is producing custom solutions for an increasingly broad range of treatments.
Today ultrasound imaging is not only a diagnostic tool. Ultrasound scanners are being used with other imaging, surgical and therapeutic devices to improve diagnosis and treatment. Telemed offers a range of ultrasound solutions, from ready-to-market to custom-designed options.
Telemed hardware includes various beamformers and a broad range of ultrasound transducers. Ultrasound beamformers are capable of controlling linear, convex and phased array transducers. Each beamformer module includes front-end transmit/receive circuitry, power supply and a signal processing module. It is possible to interface with PCs using a USB controller. Imaging modes include B, M, 4B (standard and colour), Color Doppler, pulse wave and continuous wave (probe and system-dependent).
Telemed’s software development kit (SDK), provided with the system, offers an easy and fast way to develop customised user interface for stand-alone imaging systems and application-specific devices and also to add ultrasound capabilities to an existing equipment. The SDK is a set of C++ libraries providing user access to most system parameters.
Headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania, Telemed has been designing and manufacturing ultrasound components and complete scanners since 1992. Production quality is confirmed by an ISO/EN 13485 quality system and US FDA 510k-cleared products.

ArtUs is very compact and highly powerful application-based ultrasound device. Featured with high-speed USB3.0 interface it allows increase scanning speed without compromising image quality and provides real-time transfer RF ultrasound data to a PC. New "WideView" imaging mode maximizes viewing area for linear, convex and endocavity transducers. Other features include improved spatial compound available for linear and convex transducers, parallel beamforming, harmonics, B-steer imaging. The system is capable to drive high-density and high-frequency transducers delivering detailed, rich and wide dynamic range images. Software features include Echo Wave II with Speckle noise reduction as a standard package and optional research package: SDK library and advanced data processing and visualisation procedures for MATLAB environment.
ArtUs is available in following modifications:
- ArtUs EXT-1H Kit, a beam former module with a single probe connector and power supply;
- ArtUs EXT-2H Kit, a beam former module with two probe connectors and power supply (in development);
- I/O module (optional), hardware modification, provides up to 6 trigger signals to/from external equipment through additional connectors;
- RF module (optional), ArtUs scanner modification, provides access to RF data via Telemed's SDK and MATLAB utilities
MicrUs Pro
MicrUs Pro is a handheld personal ultrasound scanner based on a popular MicrUs platform. “Pro” stands for “probe” and “professional”: Its upgraded electronics and carefully designed printed circuit boards provide image quality appreciated by MicrUs customers while the size is minimized to fit into a transducer housing.
MicrUs Pro is an application-driven device and works with Windows and Android platforms on modern tablets and mobile phones. Software Development Kit (SDK) for Windows and Android can be provided on request for industry, developers or research teams.
CE certification is in process.
MicUs Pro is available in 3 versions:
- MicrUs Pro-L40S - linear transducer, 5-12 MHz, 40 mm.
- MicrUs Pro-L40N - linear, 5-12 MHz, 40 mm, performance version)
- MicrUs Pro-C60S – general convex, 2-5 MHz, R60 mm
